- The
Smith River
Salmon:
Salmon will begin entering the river in September.
Prime fishing is usually October through early December depending
on river flow rates and conditions.
Although the salmon season is short, these salmon can be found
throughout the system in large numbers and provide excellent
fishing opportunity.
Hook
into one of these and hold on! Fish usually range from 15
to 50 pounds. A 25 pound salmon is quite common.
Steelhead:
The Smith River holds the state record steelhead
at 27 lbs. 4 oz.
Steelhead
will enter the river and be in fishable numbers starting in
December and continuing through April. Known for their acrobatics
and line ripping runs, these fish provide the excitement sought
after by anglers around the world.
Fish
average 8 to 11 lbs. Although fish in the twenty pound range,
are hooked throughout the season. Every cast holds the possibility
of a new state record.
Rates:
Fish in comfort from our new 2005, 17 ft. Willie Drift
Boat. Our boat is fully equipped with extra padded seats,
heaters, and a rain-top for inclement weather.
During your trip, all bait, tackle, and gear is provided.
